An Alert Is a Question, Not an Answer

Security tools generate a flood of events every day, and almost all of them are noise. The hard part is telling the one that matters from the thousands that do not. Datacipher’s analysts examine security events, add the context, and work out what is actually happening, so a real threat is recognized for what it is and a false alarm is not chased as if it were one.

Drowning in Alerts That Mean Nothing

Alerts Are Not Answers

Every alert is really a question: is this real, and does it matter? Answering it takes judgment the tool cannot provide.

Drowning in Noise

A security environment can generate thousands of events a day, the overwhelming majority of them harmless. Without someone to sort signal from noise, the few that matter are buried in the many that do not.

Alert Fatigue Hides Real Threats

When a team faces a constant stream of alerts, most of them false, it starts to tune them out. The danger is that the one genuine threat arrives looking just like the noise everyone has learned to ignore.

Context Is What an Event Means

A single event in isolation often means little. What turns it into a real signal is context: what else is happening, what is normal, and what it connects to. Assembling that context is skilled work, not an automatic step.
Our Solution

Understood, Not Just Forwarded

Datacipher analyzes the security events across your environment, which involves examining what the tools flag and working out what it actually means. From our Security Operations Center, our analysts take the raw stream of alerts and understand what is noise, what is benign, and what is a genuine threat that needs to be acted on.

When an event is flagged, our analysts examine it and gather the context around it: what else is happening, what is normal for your environment, and what the event connects to. They use that context to decide what it really is.

What Event Analysis Involves

Noise, Benign, or Real

Taking the raw stream of alerts and working out which of the three each one actually is.

Context Gathered Around It

What else is happening, what is normal for your environment, what the event connects to.

A Person Deciding

Events that reach a decision have been made sense of by an analyst rather than passed along automatically.

Alert Fatigue Defeated

Fewer things demanding attention, and the ones that do are worth it.

Business Benefits

Fewer Alerts, Better Answers

01

The Signal Found in the Noise

Skilled analysis separates the few events that genuinely matter from the thousands that do not, so real threats are recognized rather than lost in the flood.

02

False Alarms Filtered, Not Chased

Working out what an event actually is means false alarms are set aside rather than consuming time and attention, so effort goes to what is real.

03

Alert Fatigue Defeated

Because events are made sense of by a person before a decision is reached, the numbing stream of raw alerts is turned into a small number of meaningful findings, so the genuine threat is not tuned out with the noise.

04

Better Decisions About What to Act On

Adding real context to an event means the choice to escalate or stand down is an informed one, so the right things are acted on and the wrong things are not.

Why Datacipher

Eight Reasons Enterprises Trust Our SOC

Round-the-Clock Operations

Our NOC and SOC run 24 hours a day, every day, so your infrastructure and security are watched and supported at every hour, not just during business hours.

Certified NOC and SOC Engineers

The people behind the service are certified network and security engineers, so your environment is in the hands of specialists who genuinely know it, not a general help desk.

Proactive Monitoring

We watch for the early signs of trouble and act on them before they grow, so problems are prevented or caught early rather than discovered once they have already caused disruption.

Faster Incident Resolution

A practiced team and a clear process mean issues are diagnosed and resolved quickly, so incidents are cut short rather than left to drag on and do damage.

Insight Drawn From Your Data

We turn the constant stream of monitoring data into real insight about your environment, so patterns and risks are surfaced and decisions are guided by what the data actually shows.

Support Across India

Our support reaches across India, so wherever your sites and teams are, they are covered by the same operation rather than left beyond its range.

Multi-Vendor Expertise

We support the mix of technologies your environment is actually built from, across many vendors, so your support does not stop at one manufacturer's boundary.

Flexible Support Models

Support is shaped around how you need it, so you get the level and kind of coverage that fits your environment and your team rather than a single fixed package.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

How is event analysis different from monitoring?
Monitoring is the constant watching that surfaces security events. Analysis is the examination of those events to work out what they actually mean, whether an event is a real threat, a false alarm, or something needing a closer look. In other words, watching raises the events; analysis makes sense of them.
Tools flag possibilities, not conclusions. Deciding whether an event is genuinely a threat depends on context, what is normal for your environment, what else is happening, what the event connects to, and assembling and weighing that context is skilled human judgment and something even best tools can’t figure out with 100% accuracy.
Alert fatigue is what happens when a team faces so many alerts, most of them false, that it starts to ignore them, and risks tuning out the one real threat. Analysis helps by making sense of events so that what reaches a decision is a small number of meaningful findings rather than an endless stream of raw noise.
If analysis confirms it is a genuine threat, it goes to incident response to be contained and resolved. If it is noise or benign, it is filtered out rather than chased.
